(June 13, 2007) Journalists murdered in Russia and Mexico - and the responses are very different.
It's not surprising that Iraq is the most dangerous place for journalists. But you might not expect two peaceful nations- Russia and Mexico - to be high on the list of places where reporting the news can be a deadly profession. National news programs in both countries report the murder of journalists, but as this Global Pulse comparison of Mexican and Russian news reveals, the coverage, the circumstances and the outcomes couldn't be more different.

Everyone in Russia knew who killed the journalist, but nobody had proof to tie it to the murders. And even if they did, how could you bring justice to the government when it's such a powerful organization.
