Shovewood 2.10 Very Important Person part one

I've just about had enough of stupid fascists for the week. Due to a warped and somewhat ironic twist of fate the escape officer is now democratically represented in Europe by an actual Nazi. He once belonged to a organisation founded in honour of Hitler, he firebombed jewish property in the 60s, is against inter-racial marriage and is basically unbelivably unpleasant. I can't tell you some of the things he and his followers have said because I still...just...can't comprehend the sheer stupidity involved. Actually that's not the problem, the group isnt stupid they're just simply racist, and also evil. I'm immensly ticked off. To quote Indy "Nazis I hate these guys"

With that in mind I thought we'd go for quite a late episode in which the Nazis are loosing the war. I couldnt take anymore fascists victories you see. Perhaps this will have a few pointers on how to constructively deal with the new guys.

I would like to personally thank whomever recorded this originally on Sunday the 9th April 1995. I would have been eight and probably asleep in bed by that time. It does however mean that it jumps a tad where the adverts have been cut out and is a bit shaky in places but it's all good and dandy.

The McCallum forecast for this episode is moderate. He's in it, being sneaky and deviously cute, but its mainly Carrington's show this week. However it has come to the escape officer's attention that some of the committee are having difficulty identifying the different uniforms of the armed services. Which is understandable as the British do tend to not adhere to the strictest dress code. Brent seems to consider a cricket jumper standard army kit for instance...it sadly isnt, whilst Player goes for the open shirt look most of the time. (can you tell where this is leading kids) So dear Flt Lt Carter has sweetly agreed to model some uniforms for us. For clarification purposes only you understand. In no way should we take advantage of his generosity.

ummm. Yes that's the army. Note the rugged unshaven look and the dangly dog tags. Most unkempt and not at all soldiery and smart...top marks for him there.

I just love the line "I think we've crossed the rhine at Remagen" because as movie buffs and Muncle fans will know that's where Mr Vaughn is.

It's nice to know his part in relation to all this. Please note Mr Vaughn is wearing a Wehrmacht uniform. Sadly he hasnt got his shades on in that pic. The Vaughn Remagen shades are not, I imagine standard kit in the german army.

The bbc home service is so reassuring. Just like a big glass of warm milk. The escape officer has those earphones...

On the subject of uniforms, I did notice that people like Dickie Player start out in raggerty army uniforms then in the end he has a smart black Naval over coat and tunic. I wonder if they did send POWS new uniforms eventually, or if the costume department just fancied decking them out better.

does any one knows the name of the movie in which,,that fat German sergeant throws matchstick after lighting the cigarette on the same place every day, the pow notes that and when the sergeant does the same again they set fire to the wood nearby,,,very funny ww2 black and white prison movie,,if some one knows the name please tell me...thanx.

Yay! For the Americans! Unbelievable what happened in the Holocaust Museum. Nazi's whether neo or of old are just so insecure about themselve, that they blame others for their shortcomings, thus the hatred towards other races, creed, religtion . . . etc. Quite an immature way of dealing with life.
