the difference between gold and diamond is that gold is 16 bit and diamond is 16 and 24 bit (higher quality samples). Thats it and unless you have very good studio monitors you will not be able to hear a difference. Only buy diamond if you are Hans Zimmer

@MrSinny94 not really. The gold edition only has one mic position according to their website.

@stihltoe Usually it's not the play engine that causes the slow loads, it's more likely your hard drive. These huge libraries have to pull a lot of information off the harddrive and so if you have a solidstate drive you probably won't have any problems. you at least have to have a 7200 RPM hardrive for good loads and sample streaming.

HI - I just saw a very good review of the play engine on which Hollywood strings is on.. and I dont know if perhaps the reviewer had a early version of Play.. but many people seem to have issues with Load times, and taking a long time on various times to play... does anyone know on Windows 64 bit system , with plenty of Ram.. if they have improved the Play engine.. Just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone else had issues with Play..

@hswhitak1 I think the only real difference between Gold, 20GB (16 bit) and Diamond 150GB (16 + 32 bit) is the number of mic positions - but he's only use the "Main" mic position anyway, which I'd guess is the one included in Gold
So I'd say this is Gold - but theres probably no difference in articulations or sound quality
