if you anhor plot "holes" so much, then what's the reasoning in yr mind behind luke's rescue plan in jedi? the reason is, as inefficient as it is, it looks cool + is a way to re-introduce the characters to the kids again.

@Nerevarineownsyou personally i wish there'd been MORE politics, rather than the possibility lucas kowtowed even slightly to people like you who think you deserve a say in the creative process. you have to 'be told' just as much in the ot ('the emperor has disolved the imperial senate. the regional governors will be in direct control of their systems now'), but you make allowances for it, like you are doing w/the equlivalent 'plot holes'.

@Nerevarineownsyou what's wrong w/politics in a movie for kids? they're not idiots. i only ever hear the 'adults' complain about it. a movie series about the fall of the republic is going to be about politics. it follows pretty closely the plan laid out in the new hope novelization.

@Nerevarineownsyou that's him watching the rough cut. you could find equivalent video of him watching a new hope + realizing how terrible the edit was, if they filmed that stuff back then. if he didn't like the movie, he wouldn't have put it out.

You have no proof that I'm making stuff up, there are videos behind the scenes of him watching the first episode then realizing how much of a mess it is. The plotholes for the Original Trilogy are so minor you can't even notice them. Phantom Menace has no protagonist, has political scenes when it's a movie for children (Star Wars IV being the ultimate movie for children), you have to be told everything (blah blah trade routes blocked) instead of seeing visuals no words, and bland characters..

@Nerevarineownsyou (cont'd) again, if you can't work out the underlying story, it isn't the writer's fault. what are you talking about "admitted it himself"? now you're just making stuff up, see? i could sit here typing out all the 'plot-holes' in the original trilogy (luke's only on dagobah for a couple days or han + leia are almost-kissing on the asteroid for weeks) but why bother? when i can just enjoy the movie.
