Stand-up comedian Jim Jeffries got a baseball autographed by Ernie Banks as part of his gift package for performing at the Just For Laughs Chicago comedy festival in June 2009.

So he decided to find out what he could about Ernie Banks and baseball, and here, he tells The Comic's Comic what he has learned and how he will use this knowledge of the sport and the man to his advantage. Did we mention that Jim is from Australia but lives in the U.K.? OK. That might help explain why he still says some of the stats and facts with a bit of a twist!

We found Jim in his hotel room in Chicago during Just For Laughs Chicago. This is one in a series of four segments during our interview.

  • @imapeddy You literally just misused the word literally.

  • Well, aren't ALL sports "irrelevant"?

  • LOL wonder how many brews he had before this video.

  • Im vaguely aware of baseball. I think its a game gay men watch in america

  • this is just hilarious.

  • @Slikrik1212 True.

  • @baseballguy2186 Dude, don't even bother with the non-baseball people, I've tried. Nothing against them but they just don't get it. You either love it or you're everyone else as far as I'm concerned. The same way I don't understand(although I can appreciate) the fans of soccer is the same way people don't get one's love of baseball. You need to be a fan to understand all the wonderful nuances of the game. The game within the game.

    Go Sox!

  • Agreed, but I disagree with your spectators comment. Yes, they make a ridiculously disgusting amount of money, but if people don't like it, no one is forcing them to watch. There's something cool about the throwback sports (baseball, boxing) because its not all action all the time. We're so used to getting things NOW NOW NOW, that its nice to see the strategy unfold. In my opinion.

  • @baseballguy2186 i played baseball my entire stupid childhood. it's boring because in a three hour long game, the ball is actually in play for something like ten or fifteen minutes. it's boring in the same sense that UFC showed people how insane it is to watch a twelve round boxing match of two idiots shuffling around a ring, giving each other the stink eye for an hour. sure, there's an art to it, but have some fucking consideration for the spectators

  • @nickypeeps Yes, but you're no different from any other girl in America, its boring if you don't know the rules. Give it another chance.

  • jim jeffries literally knows nothing about baseball
