Kristin Hersh and Vic Chesnutt in the closing number of their June 3, 2000, shared-bill set at Foley's Cellar in San Francisco. This is raw and unedited, and while I intend to post the entire show very shortly, I wanted to get at least a taste of it out ASAP in light of Vic's sad and untimely passing. To help offset the medical and funeral costs he left behind, please visit http://kristinhersh.cashmusic.org/vic/ and contribute any amount you can. Thanks.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. With my kids finally out of school for summer, I hope to get the rest of the show edited and available here and elsewhere sometime soon (not that I didn't intend to have it up long before now!).

  • This is great, Scott, thanks for putting it up. Such a special look between them at the end...

  • Thanks. And there were many of those "special looks" between them, which is half the reason I was bawling when I uploaded the video (combined with Kristin's tweets this week). Wait until you see the entire show. They really had a connection.

  • god bless you for posting this. I'm moved to tears as well. the sheer beauty of these two kindred spirits is just about too much to take. long live Vic Chesnutt. (r.i.p. Mark Linkous, too)

  • Wow, I'm very happy you enjoyed it. It was an amazing show, as you can tell. I, too, am a huge Mark Linkous fan. So sad we lost him and Vic both in such a short span of time.

  • Thank you so very much.

  • Ska4me, I don't know how to express how thankful I am, this is wonderful. I was there that night, front row, it was my second Vic show, saw him 6 more times after that. I miss him dearly. Looking forward to see the rest of the show, there were great songs that night.

  • thanks much for this. any chance to get this in it;s original format. Please send me a message if so. I have loads of Vic shows to trade.

  • this breaks my heart. I love this song. I love these people.

  • Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest. R.I.P. Vic.
