My friend Hutch playing Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here in 22-tone equal temperament on a tubular guitar that glows in the dark. For more info and photos see http://www.handmademusicclubhouse.com/forum/topics/pic-of-homemade-abs-bass-i...

  • You should invent a tuner next.

  • @curtiswcole Good one! But the alien scale is different from ours. :-) Read the description.

  • you would think aliens could build a guitar that is in tune

  • @hydewylde666 You're quite right. There's nothing wrong with conventional guitars.

  • Kool well all I have to say is that I gotta get a guitar like this one cuz may old 20 year old one is getting a little old for me I never seen a guitar like this+plus I made a guitar once and hope I get to work with you some time @dkeenan7

  • Pink Floyd -3

  • I'm all about the innovation... but at the end of the day any musical instrument is as good as the music that can be played on it. Which means, judging from this video, you should probably either choose better-suited music, or improve the design of the instrument... cuz this ain't working.

  • want that

  • it sound like crap ... FENDER ALL THE WAY

  • @kotor1505 Because (a) we only had it for a short time and don't know any 22-equal pieces and (b) we wanted to see what it would sound like and (c) I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan (but that's not me playing it). Sorry if it offends you. Personally I think the final chord actually sounds richer somehow than the 12-equal version.

  • @dkeenan7 Well in that case then, why bother trying to play a song that you don't have the notes for? It's technically out of tune for that piece.

  • @kotor1505 I don't think you are fully getting it yet. It is 22-equal, not 24-equal. So it doesn't just have extra notes. It is _missing_ 11 of the 12 standard notes.

  • @dkeenan7 Ehhh, I don't think you can make the argument about the scale being different, considering this is a video of someone trying to play a song that was composed in our 12-tone system. Yeah we get it, the guitar has extra notes, but in this case, YOU SHOULDN"T be playing those lol So it should sound just fine.

  • @curtiswcole ...hippies seem to gt that one alot.
