I respect your long time attendence on the tracks ! Wow, i only know Gelinotte from the stories and VarenneFan-clips.

I'm an addict for the last 27 years, i think, to be exact and i remember the days we all said ''ooooohh' when a horse in Nederland was 'flying' in a 1.18.0 haha :o) Nowadays there are jet-planes in some countries, faster than 1.10's. You should make a comeback to the tracks ! Things have changed, but horses are horses. And they are still giving it their all:)

  • @watchingponies I was an addict more than 50 years ago, because my father always had one or two trotters. I am surprised at the speed nowadays; 1.14.13 is out of this world for me. In those days 1.18 was already a great performance. The best European horse then was Gélinotte (France) who realized 1.16.5 or so, the whirlwind of its time.

I have long given up going to 'courses' (as the are called in Dutch: 'koersen'), but when I watch one on YouTube the fascination comes back. Nice clip!

.....thanks :)) Nothing to add to that...

  • Great horse, a bit like Hairos II.
