Before Sonic the Hedgehog, Joe Musashi was the closest thing Sega had to a viable mascot (no, the kid with the big ears doesn't count). He made his debut in the 1986 release Shinobi, and returned two years later with a friend in a supercharged 16-bit sequel. That sequel was Shadow Dancer, and the friend was the wolf-like ninja dog Yamato. This review takes a detailed look at the three games bearing that name.
