@Designandrew I don't believe voice recognition will go too far, people will get tired of talking, and want to just "press a button".

X10 is very old technology, Z-wave and Zigbee are better and much newer.

this is absolutly the way of the future.. touch panels and mobile devices are ok for home automation, but voice is just so much easier.. newer more advanced 'educated' voice recognition programs will emerge within the next few years..

Don't really understand what you're talking about but, it's pretty awesome. :P
Hey there Ben. Where can I find the plug socket adaptors for this program to work here in the UK?

Just search for X10 technology UK in Google. I am using a cm11a computer interface. The equipment isn't all that expensive each appliance module costs around $40 here in Aust and around $100 for the PC module.
Regards,
Ben

I use Homeseer Standard running on Windows Server 2003. I know it costs but I have tried well over 10 other home automation programs and Homeseer is in my opinion simply the best!

Hi Ben, great video (especially for your first!)
I use the x10 system, I have it housewide. I liked the idea of the voice commands, I see the program is called "Homeseer" but google isn't furnishing too much information. Any insight?
I have a brief video of my system if you're interested.

Hi Svengalie,
You appear to be using the same X10 modules as I used in the video except mine have Australian plugs on them. The good news with this is that it should work fine with the Homeseer software assuming the computer module is also the same and that is very likely
My advise and I cant stress this enough is to just spend the money and buy the Homeseer software. The important thing in choosing your software is scalability and the community behind the software.
