  • Once again, the MEDIA is creating a story where none exists. The super-delegates will RATIFY the popularly elected nominee. All this analysis of which super-delegates are supporting which candidate is BULLSHIT...it's hype to keep you glued to their network.

I agree the system is too flushed with money... and if public financing of all campaigns is the answer, only DEMOCRATS are fighting for Clean Election Laws.

  • I disagree. This is not a media created controversy. I have spoken with several super-delegates and they have the right to vote as they so choose. And both sides have been courting them. While many have gone to Clinton, they are starting to move toward Obama. Should be interesting.

One interesting point, if they are obligated to follow the voters, then what is the point of a superdelegate. They should simply scrap the system. Who knows, maybe they will.

  • this SD sound pretty bs. they are probelly some kind of big corporates who controls the democratic party. the big government party. this is the main reason i will stay republican and vote republican. the small government party

  • you cant say the SD's are the same as the Electoral College. There are to many differences from each other. One is that the EC counts the small states and county's while the SD's vote the candidate that they want when the voters didn't want the SD's candidate.

  • The SD's started when Nixon became president they wanted the people to have the some of the power but they never came. When the people didn't vote who they wanted to they created the SD so they can determined the election and dem's thought republicans stole the elections.

  • The electoral college also silences the votes of 37 other states when you can win the presidency with 13. Given this election already has some of the highest turnout in over 20, 30 years, I would say that perhaps if people knew that every vote counted (not just a majority vote to win electoral votes), people would in fact come out even more, knowing they have the first AND last say in who their leaders should be.

  • How about a history of super-demagogues?

  • Just another farce which bypasses the Democratic process. And most people are ignorant enough to believe that their vote counts.

  • It supercedes the popular vote ....sounds familiar?

  • BULLSHIT!
