    Not meaning to pick on Drew Barrymore, but the way she speaks actually makes the character much more convincing - as someone who's had a serious brain injury. In many cases, injury to the brain (such as trauma, or oxygen deprivation) can change speech patterns and even personality. I don't think anyone comments on her lisp in the movie - so it's just my observation.
