A pilot is forced to make an emergency landing, and from the sound the plane makes, the landing gear is at fault.

  • That is the landing gear warning horn. It comes on when power is lower than a certain amount, or you have 20* or more of flaps in. It appears to me by the pilots reaction at :38 that he for some reason ignored the warning horn, and forgot to put the gear down.

  • Buttscratch landing...?

  • Yeah, sounds like it... that gear-up horn gets your attention even if the 3-redlights doesn't!

I always set my Bonzer (radar altimeter) to warn me at 50 ft, just in case. Many a pilot has cheerfully landed gear-up, red lights glaring and warning horn honking away. There are only 2 kinds of pilots: those who have landed gear-up accidentally, and those who are going to- someday. GREAT VID! TOP RANK!

  • I remember this incident was about the pilot being distracted and forgetting to put the gears down, instead of the gears being mechanically at fault.

  • Uhh , sorry that wasn't me. I left my account signed in when my sister when on the computer, Sorry.
