It was a sad day for 25 drivers of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV pure electric vehicle when they returned their vehicle after a 12 month trial.

See what people really think of the city car that is set to revolutionise how we drive.....

  • WOW... I will get one...

  • I was reading up on it and it seems like one hell of a good idea. I'm in the States, and I'm tired of almost 4 bucks a gallon. The way average Americans burn fuel the car would pay for itself in like 8 years. Plus it says it would take like 22.5 hours to charge to 100% in the standard outlets in out home, but 6 hours with some sort of adapter you buy. Also with those electric fueling stations it would take 30 minutes for it to get to 80%. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these next year.

  • Have one!

It is as expensive as the first laptops but I found out my previous ML320 Mercedes had only 10% of its initial value after 150 000 km. So when you buy a car it is the experience you buy and not the kilos of metal or German engineering. A car is not an investment. And in this case you do not pay for the luxury, but for it being a swift escape out of gasoline land.

Fun to drive. No problem to go 140km in one charge if you drive carefully in city speed.

  • @rararalololol and the plastics to make the most the components of the car?! I would buy it though if it was far cheaper!

  • Electric car are great idea but they must charge faster or battery live must be very quick 20-30 minutes to 100% then it will be really worth get it

  • How many of the testers did buy the car "as they so mush loved it" now i love EV's but you have to be careful with the movies you put out there.

  • @ClubbersFinest Talk for yourself.. In my country we have 60% water power.. only 5% are fossile fuels.. Those 5% are beeing replaced slowly by wind and solar power.. Also electric cars are way better than ICE cars already with the existing powerplant structure in the world.. But also that can be better.. But one step at a time..

  • Also, for you who want this for moral reasons in saving the nature and getting back at the oil companies you can forget about making much difference really. Unless we can encourage governments to invest in more nuclear power plants and alternative energy sources for electricity we wont stop the pollution.

  • Its really sad though since not many people will be able to buy these cars. It will be for the more fortunate ones with big bank accounts, and from my experience they tend to go for more conventional petrol luxurious cars not looking for cheaper driving costs. 24 000 (30 000 without the 5k from government) is a lot of money and doesnt make sense if you want to cut down on monthly everyday costs. We will have to wait 5-10 years and hopefully it will be cheaper and better battery technology..

  • @rararalololol Nuclear power, coal and occasionally oil as well (though with the higher price that is becoming less used)
