Why does it show up as a Core 2 Duo if its a Pentium processor?

Because it is the same architecture as the Core 2 Duo, just has 1mb less Level 2 cache

Is it because it is overclocked to what a Core 2 Duo looks like (1066FSB?) or would that still show up as a Core 2 Duo at its original 800FSB?

Yes, it shows up as a Core 2 Duo at stock speed.

Don't even consider the 9500GT, DDR3 or DDR2. they are both very under powered.

the 8800gt and the 9800gt are the exactly the same card. Nvidia just renamed it. I got this silent version from ebay.

so at 5:3 the memory is running at 486mhz (so effective 972Mhz because its ddr2) If you go to a higher fsb you can bring the memory down to a 1:1 ratio so it runs at 800Mhz effective.
