  • The USRP alone can not intecept GSM calls. In requires software, RF Front End, and A/5.1 cracking for most service providers. This is a specialized ACTIVE GSM-based Cellular Interceptor system. SecureGSM does not use normal interconnect voice, it uses CSD like a modem to digitize voice back and forth. However, advanced interceptors can detect such activity.

  • Thanks for the comment. I belive that advanced intereceptor will detect activity but no chance forthe signal being decrypted. brute forcing tripple encryption is kind of hopeless exercise. :)

  • When your calls are being intercepted. You will get an advanced warning that an incoming call is on it's way. Usually this is more provalent when your asleep. Hidden voices, messages, or codes are contained within the warning. The warning can be up to one second long

  • Omg, cops use this to intercept my phone calls. Thugs. I hate em now that i know them 1st hand. they are highly manipulative group of dirty ppl.

  • The Kc+Ki+SRES keys does not have to be provided from the network switch provider, it can be generated automatically.

  • Yes, ALL cellular and telco calls are intercepted whether it be passive, active, or through the network switch provider. It's "Exigent Communications" under the CALEA act.

  • Backup a little here, - when I signed up for my cellphone - GSM tmobile in 1999, I remember seeing a private key or something on the paperwork so aren't all GSM calls secure?? You are telling me that there are systems to crack these RSA keys? I was under the impression that for the FBI to monitor a call they have to get the key from the Cellphone provider ???

  • Agreed! SecureGSM makes most GSM cellular interceptors worthless in CSD-enabled service providers. Overall, SecureGSM is a GREAT product. for that particular purpose. :)

  • Simply, the Active GSM interceptor was not designed to detect CSD transmissions which is what SecureGSM uses. However, this can be detected and a directional finder can find the mobile subscribers.

  • I would like to know what software and hardware he is using to intercept that call. Can anyone please shed any light on this? Thanks
