Meta G: Pokemon Stadium Amnesia Psyduck

Meta G shows off the prize Psyduck that comes bundled with Amnesia, a move it cannot normally learn. To get it, all 151 1st generation Pokemon must be entered into the Hall of Fame either by winning the Gym Leader Castle, Poke Cup Master Ball or Prime Cup Master Ball.

I just started a new game, and remembered about this.

I see people saying its pathetic, but other then the moves aren't the stats good? I was ganna do all this to unlock it just to sub squirtle with psyduck before the 2nd gym. I can get some people to reply to this their thoughts on Amnesia Pysduck? (None saying it sucks or is great with out any reason) ie no spam posts

@LockDown641989 I trained up the Psyduck from the video and made it a Lv100 Golduck, and I must say that I found the stats to be excellent in all areas, enough to be greater than the average Golduck. In theory the stats should be lower because the Psyduck is OT STADIUM rather than your game, but in this case I can confirm they are better. I've even used this Golduck against the rival in Pokemon Stadium 2 and it's managed to hold its own. Definitely get it if you can even just for the stats.

amnesia first gen is the best boosting move there is its like using 2 calm minds in one move so it will give golduck a powerful surf/hydro pump ice beam/blizzard attacks as well as protect it from electric and grass moves much better so its pritty good but its a lot of effort

@TheR0b1991 That's exactly right. It's a shame amnesia doesn't have the same effect these days with the special attack and defence now split, but at the same time amnesia is in psyduck's normal level up move list in new games

@Demonh8ter Yeah lol, I bought it in April 2005 in Australian dollars. Didn't mind though, to be honest most of the games I get are either presents or bought from vouchers and birthday money so in that sense I didn't really pay a cent

are you guys aware back then amnesia was a big power boost more stronger than todays calm mind move it boost your special alot making moves like surf psychic or ice beam very powerful

@zatchbellpokemon I think they assumed that anybody that got that heavily into Pokemon to actually get that would appreciate that it is clearly Misty's Pysduck from the original show. Amnesia was so broken before-- they gave it to Mewtwo in Round 2. It raises Special Defense AND Special Attack, and is probably the reason they divided those stats in later games. Amnesia for a few turns and soak up damage like a brick wall, then Psychic their brains out for ownage. Think Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
