It's been officially found out that Chet is Bob Payne.

@hoopersghost That makes sense. Thanks.

@Garrettk41: A golf "tee" (so-called because it's shaped like the letter, sort of) is the little wooden object that the ball goes on at the start of playing each hole. So yes, the heavy-handed reference to the "17th TEE!!" was a pun, just like the other hints (gee/eye/why).

If the doctor had had a line or two, I think Fran Brill, using her Nora Nicks voice, would have been just right.

I guess tee involves that little stick you put the ball on. I'm more of a miniautre golf person, so that's my theory.
-
That part I assumed. I even recall a joke like that in one of the "Clue" books I used to have. When Mr. Green found he was wrong about Mr. Boddy being on the golf course, he said "well that really TEES me off!" I just don't get what it means.
-
I think it was probably a golf joke, considering the other references were jokes as well (I seem to have something in my "eye" and tell me "why").
-
I don't quite get the T part. Since I'm not really into golf, I'm not sure whether that was supposed to be an in-joke, or the golfer was just yelling "The next letter is T, you idiot!" at Don.

Well, you're dfinitely right on the first four counts. As for Michael, it's possible, though there have been other guesses. On Muppet Wiki, there's a discussion about Chet having possibly been voiced by Bob Payne or John Lovelady. Still, you might be right. And we have no way of knowing who does the doctor. Maybe if she'd had a line...

I loved this character!! xD
I used to copy him and bang my head on the piano. That's why I have brain damage today.
