Toshiba is introducing a new technology that WILL NOT accompany its much bally-hooed Cell TV, which will be available later this year. The technology is called motion gesture.
Motion gesture is like a Wii for your Television, except you don't have to have a nunchuk controller. Instead of having a remote, you can simply use your hands to motion which channel you want, what kind of media to play, and when to play it. The display Toshiba set up here at the 2010 CES involves a 3D globe on-screen that displays all your media. Simply use your hand to motion the globe around until you find what you want.
The TV would have a built-in infrared reader that recognizes what motion. Toshiba will not say when this technology will be available.
