Carly & Lawrence: Short Shorts

Some may wonder why its so long between clips around here. Two reasons. 1) My job. 2) The horrors of early 1990s fashion that results in my alternately laughing and gasping, then realizing that I've worn just the outfit I've been mocking and that there might be PICTURES of ME wearing, say, a paisley vest. One really must be in the right frame of mind to confront horrors such as this and RKKBo's "acting."

To cheer myself up I breezed through several weeks of Molly and the professor, Kim's coma and the arrival of Austin Reed and went straight to some episodes that I knew would have C&L scenes. And what did I get? A scene with Carly, Nicky and Lawrence with all of them wearing short shorts. Lawrence is wearing especially short shorts which happen to be royal blue and a shirt which is sunshine yellow. There's only one reason to wear an outfit like this and that's to make sure your clothing reflects off of headlines when you ride your bike in the dead of night. In the daylight it makes as much sense as Carly's denim shirt does. (Yep, I had one of those too.)

At least we have Nicky whining like a, well, kid and Lawrence declaring that he loves children in manner that suggests he loves children best when they're served with a savory side dish. Oh, and Carly gets a call on her mobile phone which is roughly the size of a satellite dish.

Yeah, I was in high school in the very early 90's (same time Saved By the Bell originally ran on NBC), and this look does take me back to then. It's amazing how many people make fun of it, but you know what, if those making fun had also been teenagers or early 20-somethings, they too would have worn the EXACT SAME OUTFITS and thought nothing of it, like we did!!!

Damn, i was so hoping that the Short shorts reference was about Carly (HOT), but then Lawrence came on screen. All i can see is my dad :$ he's a coach and he used to wear those shorts ALL the time in the 90s.

LOL - I love seeing those cell phones from the early 90s. And what was Carly doing wearing those shorts when she was WORKING? And you can barely see them with that monstrosity of a shirt --- and yes, I used to own a denim shirt, too! LOL

Nicky was always whiny. He was a total brat in the storyline leading up to Carly Buried Alive.
