FINALLY! this made my Christmas.

I really believe now that Mary would marry Matthew with or without the title and the estate. The fact that for the first time she didn't have to think of her answer shows how far they have come.

I have spent the whole day re-watching downtown from series 1 to the Christmas special and Matthew truly does make Mary a better person.

I was very tired when watching this on christmas day, and was very nearly asleep, but when this conversation started i sat bold upright in bed and squealed, causing my dad to come running in asking if I was okay... I shushed him out of the room and was on the edge if my bed for the rest of the scene, then I burst into tears when he got down on one knee.... BEST CHRISTMAS EVER.
