Scouting new rappelling sites for a theoretical high adventure climbing program at the Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch. This was a 250 ft. wall on Bear Cave Mountain off into Hidden Valley. This participants were Janeen Guynn(High Adventure Director), Luke Russel(climbing groupie), Matt Puckett(Climbing Director), Bob Hansler(Cavalcade Director) and new girl Chersie.

  • that's on awesome rappel , i think our troop might be doing some climbing in hidden valley this spring break, and were also doing a cavalcade, its gonna be pretty awesome :D

  • Always good to see BTSR! I really do miss that place.

Search for "The Night We Shot Allowat" on the net and you'll see why.

Nice transition from rappell to ascenders. A Safety 8 ring would be slow, but then you used 3(?) ropes. On 1980's BTSR staff we went to Point of Rocks outside Ft. Davis to rappell it - right at the spot where you tie the ropes together there is a ledge you can stop on.

Thanks for the video, be safe, have fun!
