To those who want to go back in time and live in the 40s and 50s remember that medicine was not what it is now. Most cancers were a death sentence, for example. Life expectancy was lower than now as well. I understand the nostalgia but I kinda like current technology, too.

@OaktownABQ Astute observation; I think it WAS the Brady Bunch kitchen, only with the "island" moved over toward the oven (or a different island altogether behind Danny). I also think the set they used for The Brady Bunch was older than the show itself...I remember seeing the living room portion of it on an episode of "Mission: Impossible."

The kitchen in the Danny Thomas coffee ad looked like the kitchen on the Brady Bunch.

I say this so much that even my kids believe things were better then and you know what, they were. My parents never worried about me being outside or riding my bike far and wide. In the summers we would disappear early in the morning, return around noon for food and leave until it was getting dark outside. All that time we spent playing, imagination required. Yes, that is what bothers me most, those young don't understand and when we are gone, these films may be all that is left.

America at it's peak! It was all B&W tv, tranistor radios & 8mm movie projectors, but it was GREAT, we manufactured them all! Today we have many more nifty toys but it all comes from china, taiwan, japan & mexico. Sad, it's all gone for good!
BTW great post ‹(•¿•)›

History is what it is. Cigarette ads on TV were legal until 1971, and chewing, pipe and cigar tobacco ads were actually legal into the 1980's.
