  • The first tickets bought when on holiday with my parents at Blackpool was for this wonderful showman. When I last saw him on the North pier he refused to leave the stage despite the curtain being dropped in front of him 3 times by the management. He just kept singing to the roars of the audience, this was 1958-9,wonderful

  • With different words this was my old school song at Blackrock College in Dublin. Rock boys are we Our title is our glory Fearless and bold Whatever the danger be Onward we go To flinch or falter never Rock boys together The Blue and White for ever. That struck fear into the opposition at lansdowne Road.
  • A real act, he could sing and entertain, but was his own worst enemy, he was a drinking partner with Frank Randle.....and that was drinking!! Saw him on stage several times in the 1950's, always a superb performance, always with encores!!!

  • If i could go back in time to see just one person it would be this wonderful man, i absolutely adore him, and his amazing voice just sends me. What a terrible shame there isn't much much more of him on tape. A truly great man with a gifted voice.

  • RIP Josef Locke a great Irishman.

  • A great entertainer, I also saw him on stage in Blackpool, played to packed, cheering audiences. My dad had all his records, which he played all the time, bless you for posting this, it brought back fantastic memories.

  • Great voice saw Joe in Blackpool, grand entertainer, any chance of showing Joe singing Soldiers of the Queen? saw a clip from an old BBC TV show when he appeared on the Michael Aspel show.
