Gameplay from Kato-chan and Ken-chan, aka JJ and Jeff on NEC PC Engine / TurboGrafx 16 retro games console. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • this game is sooo not right, that soo japanese style,

  • @Blitzpheonix2010 Hehehe... yeah, very :D

  • Also the character's faces were changed in J.J and Jeff. The one kind of looked like Tom Cruise in shades, and the other kind of looked like a young Pat Sajak. As far as what they are saying or what the story is, they are partners in a private detective agency. One day they get a call for a job, but only one of them gets it. The other is jealous, so he tries to sabotage your progress.

  • @magesfolly Thanks for the info. I've seen JJ and Jeff, but never actually played it :)

  • I like your dry commentary. I saw this game mentioned on Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe last night.

  • I haven't heard of that before, is it a tv show or a youtube thing?

I'm glad you like the commentary... thanks :) Quite often when I get negative comments, it's coz someone or other doesn't like the commentary, so I figure it's one of those things you either get, or you don't.

  • This video was worth watching for his commentary alone

  • I had this game for like 20 years and have no idea how to pass that gap at the end of the video

  • Heh, that was weird. Nice little playthrough, man.

  • better than the U.S version...JJ and Jeff.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME lol!

  • considering that Boogerman does the same that Kato-chan & Ken-chan, censoring this game is now meaningless

  • lol i remember i used to play this
