A 6 week clinical placement; 5 weeks at Menindee Health Service and 1 week at Wilcannia Hospital.
Nursing duties included working in the general clinic, chronic illness clinics (e.g. Diabetes, Family/Child Health etc), assisting with the visiting specialist's clinics, community nursing, and heaps of Emergencies. You can be on-call 24/7, as the RN's operate the rural ambulance.
Weekends were spent in Broken Hill (110kms from Menindee) with Nursing, Med, Dental, Physio and OT students from all over the world!
Cost: Only Petrol, Food and Spending Money!
