Windir - Journey to the End on the album 1184

Lyrics

A vague shadow lurking in the dark, A sane man's worst nightmare, A vision containing death, As a wake in honour of himself, For equal sane mortals, It's a nightmare becoming real, But I, I see it as the Final clause of a never ending deal, I embraced my vision, as it was common for me, A fate, a destiny, an inevitable early death Finally I'm dead, And the vision is revealed for everyone else

  • @ImRealAmerican Marduk, Dark Funeral, Setherial and Watain say that you'r gonna suck their balls if you wont apologise.

  • Omg For the love of the Gods, remove swetard from the top comments. Swedish music including rock and metal, suck balls compare to Norwegian music.

  • Haven't heard music this good in some time.i can't explain what it does. It's just flat-out badass.hands down.

  • easily the best song of windir, from 3:00 on its just epic, suck dark beauty it really captures the mood and put's you in euphoria. great job from valfar and we shoud all thank him for leaving us with this master piece. sad but i think he was meant to die, in my opinion it's to coincidental that he got cought in a snow storm on his way to his parents cabin. i don't believe he was stupid enough to go out in bad weather. the question is why?!! why him so talented, hate when life does that.

  • In Old Norse Odin (Óðinn) goes by numerous names one of which is Valfaðir (You can read about it in the old poems in Snorra-Edda and Völuspá). Due to this I think Valfar might be drawn from Old Norse word, Valfaðir. Val meaning gods and faðir meaning father. I can prove this, Valhalla is Valhöll in Old Norse, meaning Palace of the Gods. It's a shame that people use the words Valhalla, Odin, Heimdall instead of Valhöll, Óðinn, Heimdallur as it should be in the original language.

    Hail from Iceland

  • @Tordenguden Ahh yes, now that you bring that up I do remember reading that. Thank you very much friend!

  • @HerrUhyre Hey. Vel, Valfar is really one of many names for Odin. Valfar means something like the fallen warriors father, or the father of the battle ground.

  • what a band... what a beautiful song...gem that will live forever!

    Hail Valfar!

  • Can someone explain to me the origins of the name "Valfar"? I've looked but haven't found anything about it, I really like the name, and might name my son Valfar.
