I am a Chet style fingerpicker. I am curious what brand Doyle's guitar is. And also, what buttons he keeps changing throughout the performance.

Well, it's a Taylor Thinline 5-way guitar and the switch goes between 5 different pickup combinations. If you were curious, his regular guitar he plays is the Taylor DDSM. You'll see it a lot in the videos floating arund here. Hope that helps. :)

This is an almost dreadful quality recording of a true legend. Some guitarists meet the Devil @ the Crossroads. Doyle met Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit which resulted in his learning how to finger tap which really impressed ol' Chet Atkins who asked him who taught him to play guitar "like that". Doyle told Chet "God knows how to play the guitar!".

@cappoli Sure Does. I spent awhile but I did finally figure out 3 little words which is the one I really wanted to know. It's on the Chet atkins live at the bottom line dvd I have. Thanks alot !

In 1996 I my-self a Young Guitarist who enjoyed mainly Rock and METAL Guitar was invited by my Teacher to attend a Taylor Concert at the Music store and I saw Doyle Dykes Play nearly 3 Hours only 4 feet from Me . I sat and watched the Most AMAZING Guitarist Play and he along with Chet Atkins,Jerry Reed ,Merle Travis,Doc Watson and Tommy Emanuel deserve so much more Credit than they get .I am so Lucky to have Seen and Heard one of the Worlds Very Best Guitarist Play Mister Doyle Dykes !!!
