This is a hell of a lot better than the Batman show with Adam West.

Alfred is watching like an eagle at The Blue Parrot because Robin has fowled up. Interesting ornithological theme here.
I like the gas-filled phone booth, so reminiscent of public phone booths after Saturday night.

"get in dick, we gotta work fast!"...no other comment necessary.

@eonetim Funny comment but before Dr. Frederic Wertham came on the scene, followed by Mad Magazine's brillant satire, the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson was never questioned. It's what you want to read into it as symbolic. "Sometimes a pickle is nothing more than a pickle."

In ref to LesHut's comment about the cape falling off. This sort of thing was common in low budget films. Columbia did not take the time to perfect their product as did Republic. These serials were issued four times a year and were used as incentives for theater owners to buy whole packages. You had to buy x number of films from a distributor in order to get what you wanted. Serials were considered "short subjects" just as two reel comedies, cartoons and travelogues were.

@ziggycat999 It's a flophouse, These were very common in the thirties and forties. A bum with 50 cents in his pocket could sleep on a flea bitten mattress, risk being bitten by rats and have your shoes stolen right off your feet by the guy next to you. In any case, it beat sleeping on a park bench and being arrested for vagrancy.
