Today we will talk about another front of the South Ossetia conflict, the one waged by the media. As a result of this warfare, people living in the West have a very different picture of this war from that of the people living in South Ossetia. Why is this the case? Well discuss this question with two journalistsRobert Bridge, Editor-in-Chief of the The Moscow News Weekly and Tony Halpin, Moscow Bureau Chief of The Times.

  • oh i thought the area was formerly where the khazars were..hmm..what does that have to do with the oil pipeline there too? yes our media sucks..just like they should have printed the fact obama and mccain support the bailout regardless of american opinion..so everyone who supports the bailout regardless of the 400 world economists panel saying "NO BAILOUT" it will happen anyway and the world is just laughing their ass off at us..it's embarassing

  • Let the the truth be out :-)

  • well said!

  • Stunning article in yesterday's Wall Steet Journa - " What the Russians Left in their wake in Georgia"

Besides, now I know for sure that S. Ossetians are just brainwashed, but there is great hope that they will reembrace true Georgian-Ossetian heritage and will joint their efforts to join European community. Please no more negativity. We all have Ossetian relatives and let's face the truth: our soceity is multiethnic.

  • its a propagandawar to demonize russia. what do you expect? they lie as often as possible also in western media.. they just do it more elegant usually.

  • Robert Bridge is honest!

  • This is a more balanced item than the usual russo-centric bluster. The BBC aired interviews and commentary with Russian officials when possible, so it's up to Russia to be cooperative. Getting a visa to go visit Russia is such a daunting process that I had to conclude, after my first attempt via 'The Real Russia', London, that it would be easier to break out of Bellmarsh High Security Prison, London. A contrast to an EU working hard to have Russians come visit without need of a visa.
