Dear BirdieGoBoom,

Ｈｅｌｌｏ～！ I'm a quirky young man named Esu and I heard about your audition through GameFAQs! When I found out that tomorrow (today) was the deadline, I put my ass into gear, grabbed the closest thing that could record my voice and got to work putting this little thing together. Truth be told, I've never auditioned for a fandub before. All I know is that I love 999 and I'd love to be a part of your project!

I digress! The volume is kind-of low so please turn up your speakers a little! My voice is a higher-than-average tenor. That being said, I chose to audition for the roles of the following:

"Speaker" (0:07)
Young Santa (0:27)
Lotus (0:44)

If I had to choose one role between the three of them, I'd definitely pick Lotus. I adored her fiery personality and zero tolerance for bullshit attitude! I also enjoyed her softer moments of vulnerability where she let her guard down as well; they made her into an engrossing, well-rounded character!

Lotus (Cont.)- You made Lotus sound much more casual about the prospect of sacrificing someone rather than reading the line in a more matter-of-fact, serious sort of way. In the third line, you sounded a little too dramatic. Lotus' pride as a woman has been insulted, and she would probably like to hit Seven over the head with a heavy, blunt object. She's not trying to be a drama queen, but is trying to express genuine anger.

Lotus- I'd say that this was pretty good, especially considering the fact that you are not a woman. Some of the lines were a bit difficult to hear, however. In the first line, I felt that the emotion you used wasn't quite fitting for the situation. Here, Lotus is a bit more scared and disbelieving than she is fiery, but your reading was definitely more on the fiery side. The second line wasn't quite how I personally envisioned it, but I actually love what you did.

Young Santa- Another wonderful audition! The voice you used here was very fitting; it was high enough to be a child's voice while still being masculine enough to fit Young Santa. The emotions in your voice were spot-on, and I feel that you really brought his character to life. Kudos to you!

Speaker (Cont.)- The second thing is that your intonation is just a little too happy here when it should be more towards the cold and unfeeling side. Other than those two things, I have nothing but complements for you!

Here's my critique:

Speaker- Amazing job with this one! The pitch of your voice sounded both feminine and mature, which is perfect for this role. There were only two things that you could improve upon here. Since the Speaker voice is sort of a mechanical thing, editing your voice to add an echo would make it sound even better.

Thank you very much for auditioning! As a general thing before I begin, while it was a nice touch to add music to your audition, I felt that it detracted from your voice just a little bit. It would be a little easier if I could hear just your voice.
