  • no, "El" is not always for masculine substantives, for example: Agua (water), is a femenine noun, but, cause of false diphthong that occurs, we use the article "EL", to refer to this. so, in spanish, it would "EL AGUA" not "La Agua"

    If it would plural, we use the article "Las", LAS AGUAS, thank you.

  • @isotopico But in general, following the o and a endings is a good rule of thumb. Since this is geared toward beginners, the exceptions to the "rule" are not really important.

  • we say in colombia PAPAs, we do not say PATATAs, the Spanish is really difficult.
