If a laptop / notebook does not power up, one of the symptom is a bad AC-DC power adapter, commonly called AC power adapter. This video shows how to test using a multitester or voltage tester

  • please clean the contact pins of your memory sticks and resit back to their slots, then try to power up. If still does not turn on normally then it could be something wrong with the system board. Can you please tell me the brand and model of your machine?

  • if both are Ok, then you may want to check memory, cpu. The better way to test them is to replace with identical part. You may also want to check the power switch button for some obvious defects. If machine is still not powering up, then I would suggest opening the motherboard. If this is something you are comfortable doing then kindly check for corrosion due to liquid or water moisture...If your are not comfortable doing this then you need to get an expert's help. Good luck!

  • Crap video showing nothing significant

  • My Acer extensa would take ages to turn on , I looked at Fixya.com , the problem was the R138 resistor, I took out the resistor myself and now it turns on instantly, no more looking in vain at a blank screen, the computer industry must make billions from us charging for mobo replacements, when in fact with a bit of common sense most of us could do this repair.

  • That's you're PSP charger. lol.

  • @nathanm2435 thats your ram try taking it out and putting it back in.

it worked for me and i hope it worked for u
