@Psychkid90 It isn't beat turned down man.. P have headphones on his head, right? Microphone take some sound from headophones, I think it ain't hard to understand.
-
@Psychkid90 so what ? what would you call it , this is what im looking for
-
@DjViRuSx "a phase-cancelling technique that cuts a majority of the beat out." lol ur crazy
-
yea its from the headphones
-
@Psychkid90 What you're hearing is the microphone picking up the beat from within Prodigy's headphones as he's rapping.
-
The reason you can kinda hear the beat is because it's playing in his headphones loud as fuck and the mic is picking up the little bit that seeps out...
-
@DjViRuSx that music ur hearing is the headphones in the vocal booth coming thru on the mic. the gate on the compressor, probably an Avalon VT-737SP, is set a lil high so the compressor is allowing any noise to come thru the mic, that's all it is ppl.
It isn't real acapella if you just turn the beat down afterwards.. -.-

@Psychkid90 tell that to Havoc. It is the official acapella. Lots of rap acapellas are released like this. Nas' It Ain't Hard to Tell for example.

@pungisotu Nah not true bro. Official acapella releases (i.e ones cleared by the record label) will never contain remnants of the beat. The only reason you can hear a little bit of the beat in the background is because someone employed a phase-cancelling technique that cuts a majority of the beat out. Even if done perfectly, through this technique you will never get a clean acapella.

@DjViRuSx thanks for the info, but how do you explain the Acapella on the It Aint Hard to Tell 12"? That was an official release.

@pungisotu I record in a studio and then mix down the vocals. The music you hear is the bleed from the headphones, you're able to hear the music that he's listening to whilst rapping. Because the microphones are so sensitive it's almost impossible to record without it. You'll find it in almost any one you listen to.
