@mackblack27 Actually so far as I know the only reason there isn't a Stargate 2 already is because MGM wouldn't let Emmerich do it because they had to cash in on the series. The concept for the Stargate sequel later became what is now Independence Day. So far as I know anyway.

And I really don't like the series, I'm sorry. It pretty much broke everything that was good about the film. It had a nice cast but of course they broke that too when they stopped SG-1.

@doltBmB also I honestly dont think the movie would have got a sequel on its own, as though it did well at the box office it really did disappear after that, my point was that the only way to explain doing a second movie while dis regarding the series would be to go down the same route that star trek did, now they did it very well but tbh stargate would have to make the exact same story line of a parralel universe.

@doltBmB I never said that the movie was shit dude, the movie was one of the most original concepts ever done and i have got shit loads of respect for it, also i am usually the one defending it. but the sci fi geek inside me is reeling at your comment lol. the series expanded on the idea and brought it to thousands more viewers also it took the story in some amazing directions and to be fair did a great service to the movie.

Holy crap. Is this the theme for a second movie based on the first 1994 movie? I had heard they were talking about doing Stargate 2, wherein a connection of Egypt to Mayans is explored, but I was under the impression that the talks came to nothing. Impressive music.
