No. The Patriot Act would have done nothing to stop 9/11. All it is, is a taking away of our freedoms. Hitler did the same thing in the 1930s.

well, the rule of thumb for terrorists:
As long as the U.S. do something like the patriot act, the terrorists will not plan any successful attack; but if the U.S. goes back to the relaxed, comfortable, non-paranoid and trusting state, the terrorists will strike again.

There have not been three hundred convictions! Understand that the patriot act is a floor for the next administration, not a ceiling. Hitler didn't win an election and start burning people the next day. It was over a long period of taking more and more civil liberties. Freshman guy, you need to pick up the constitution and read it
