Representives from more than 30 countries have met in Geneva in an attempt to conclude talks that began seven years ago. The Doha round of talks, as they are known, are aimed at reducing trade barriers and aiding developing countries to promote free trade. The main sticking points surround the demand by developing nations for the richer ones to receive lower agricultural subsidies while industrialised nations are asking for countries with emerging markets to reduce import duties. Inside Story asks if the Doha round can be saved.

  • that was kinda interesting..

  • It is a major problem. Not to defend them, the EU has already found difficulties in complying with previous WTO requirements. EU farmers can only deal with so many shocks. Political reality is that business is not concerned with immigration or starvation and its business why GATT/WTO is founded. Big issue is also import substitution of developing countries, what to think of those g'ments? I'm gonna write my MA thesis about this cuz its mighty important and interesting for sure..

  • does somebody knwos where can i find this with spanish subtitles? thanks

  • Great understanding of the big and sordid picture engineered by western nations (G-8); Where is the voice of OxFam international? THE MOST HIGH YAH will outruse western arrogance, greed and voracious deception orchastrated by the european-japanese-USA's economic advisors. Peace and Shalom to the poor and forgotten nations of the earth.

  • Food war?

    name one.

  • Why this is the MOST IMPORANT AND URGENT NEWS today:

    1) Developing countries can't get or grow their own food

    2) Thos who don't die of starvation emigrate to neighbor countries

    3) Food wars begin

    4) Developed countries experience SUPER HIGH INFLATION based on reduction of food supplies

    5) Immigration to developed countries reach the highest levels ever

    6) Developed countries closed their borders to immigration

The rest is simply to hard to imagine.

This must be delt with NOW!

  • I lived in China so I am talking out of experience but it will be better to look for means2correct the ills in the PRC than2continue2 argue facts.Iam an eye-witness so no 1 can tell morethan Ican speak even the chinese more than u the Chinese. My 6 years in China is notjust 6 days or six weeks that took me2 several cities in China teaching ur people English but for all these years I never went2any christian church. My faith2 God dwindled in China because of the poor freedom of speech and religion.

  • Have you been to China? Have you been to Tibet? how long did you stay in China? How much do you know about China? You are not educated well, you should go back to school and learn more before you make this kind of comment.

  • Most Tibetans and Foreigners suffer repression in China because the world is turning a deaf ear to this human right abuse by the chinese government.....Tibetans have exposed them. This Olympic has been termed as the worst of its kind.....The Chinese Beijing Olympic slogan:"One World One Olympics" holds only during the Olympics because after the Olympics China will continue with its draconian policies. They informed Bars in Beijing already to refuse Blacks n Indians entery Discrimination

  • Free trade is about destroying middle classes and creating more poverty. Since the dawn of time, it has been this way. Please, people of the world, wake up. Go thru history and look it up. Its a tool used by globalists to enslave the world.
