As our world heats up due to climate changes, fires are breaking out all over the world threatening dry places like California with large-scale annihilation. The civilian firefighting bureaucracies wanting to sit back on roads in wheeled trucks and wait for fires to come to them at fire breaks of lines where fuel sources are removed are letting the deadly fire triangle of oxygen, fuel and heat grow too much such that the inferno skips across country and ravages unhindered. Wildfires are a NON-LINEAR problem that requires a NON-LINEAR SOLUTION: cross-country mobile M113 FireGavin low ground pressure tracked tanks with water cannon to put heat sources out and bulldozer and backhoe blades to move away fuel sources TAKING THE FIGHT TO THE FIRE.

Slacker militarycrats might say, "Its not my job, man", au contrere, mon frere! If the U.S. military was doing its job in The Battle Against Man (TBAM) it would have M113 FireGavins to PUT OUT VEHICLE FIRES CAUSED BY ENEMY ACTIONS DURING COMBAT:

Not only could M113 Gavins traverse terrain that no wheeled vehicle could ever hope to, but it could also drive through flames and hotspots without risk to itself or it's crew.

The ability to swim, sling-load, and even airdrop would make M113 Fire Tracks a virtual "silver bullet" against wildfires in remote regions!

Its like a Zippo M-132 in reverse! They need to use the highviz chartreuse yellow paint though seriously. That red is going to be entirely indistinguishable in low light.
