Help save the firefly! Fireflies are disappearing. You can help make everyone aware. Share this video and support Project Firefly!

Oil-based insecticides sprayed by foggers are killing fireflies. The oil and chemical companies are making millions of dollars spraying toxin from the spraying of toxic chemicals under the cloak of darkness in America. This practice is destroying fireflies and other beneficial nocturnal insects. It may also be very bad for humans who breath the toxins.

You can help. Collect fireflies when you see them active. Make firefly videos of any unusual behavior and post them. If you find fireflies that are dying after a fogger goes through your neighborhood, make a video of the dying firefly.

Fireflies exposed to toxic chemicals may exhibit symptoms of having been poisoned. They may not be able to walk and may glow continuously. Normally a healthy firefly can walk around when placed inside a glass jar and may even flash brightly. A firefly which has been poison may walk sluggishly, not be able to right itself, lay upside down wiggling its legs in the air and slowly dying over a period of hours or days.

Please help. Collect fireflies and make videos of the fireflies you observe. This is a great way to document what oil-based spraying of insecticides is doing to fireflies in your community.

Please let Project firefly know if you are able to document the death of fireflies. Send a link of your video to DrFirefly@byteland.org so we may post a link. We need everyone to please help sound the alarm by making videos of fireflies which are being poisoned and destroyed by oil-based insecticide spraying.

Millions of tons of toxic chemicals are being sprayed at night in cities, towns and neighborhoods. These chemicals are killing fireflies and other beneficial insects. Instead of developing and using biological control methods which only target mosquitoes, toxic chemicals delivered by oil-based fogging is killing fireflies. Because fireflies flash and blink, their disappearance in noticed first. Hence the disappearance of fireflies serves to sound the alarm that something is very, very wrong.

You can help simply by making a video of the fireflies in your city, town or neighborhood. If you find fireflies dying or exhibiting symptoms of having been poisoned, please make a firefly video and post it for everyone to see.

Please state the city/state or zip code where the poisoned firefly was observed and collected. This information may be vital to prove that big oil and chemical companies are responsible for killing fireflies and other beneficial insects throughout America.

Please also share The Last Firefly video with you friends and associates. Everyone needs to know that the big oil companies, the same companies that are responsible for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, are also polluting and poisoning the air in America.

The disappearance of fireflies in America is alarm that there is an ecological disaster in progress caused by the big oil and chemical companies. Because the toxic chemicals being sprayed kill fireflies and other beneficial insects they are destroying and polluting the environment. Beneficial insects such as moths which are active at night pollinate many flowers and also serve as food for other small animals. When you poison insects that are active at night those poison destroy not only mosquitoes, but many, many other insects and enter the food chain. They may eventually contribute to the ill health of people exposed to these oil-based toxins.
You can help! Watch for fireflies in you community. Fireflies are generally active during the late spring through the summer. Collect fireflies and make a video, especially if you observe fireflies dying or exhibiting symptoms of exposure to poisonous chemicals.
We also need specimens of fireflies from throughout America that have been poisoned. Specimens should be preserved in a small vial and sent to DrFirefly. For complete instructions visit Dr. Firefly's homepage at http://www.drfirefly.byteland.org

Thank you for watching "The Last Firefly" and making and posting your own firefly videos.
