  • @paralian It's an AC current, meaning at different times the electrons are moving one way, and at other times moving the other way. So generally the electrons never move far from a point. It still allows for power production because the diodes essentially hide the negative part of the sine curve. If you drew the output of a diode when a AC voltage is put over it the output would only look like the positive half. There are techniques to then make this inconsistent voltage constant DC power.

  • @paralian I have a question though: when you have that 3-phase wye thing, you say it's pushing electrons out of the middle... where do those electrons come from?

  • 3/4 of the way through, and I've learned 3 things I didn't know from all the electrical classes I've taken (1 in high school, 2 in university).

  • Thanks for the quick lesson. You are great.

  • The best of Davidsfarm videos were the mechanical ones, like this one. It's a shame they aren't all in one place, with due credit to the author.

  • I wonder, could you have the magnets stay stationary while the stater coil rotates and still produce power?

  • great video i learn more then never

  • ..so how does a voltage regulator work? Anybody?

  • if this guy was my dad, id of learned a thing or 2 growing up

  • I love dave's farm
