A very simple animation I made years ago -- I'm not into animation CG, just making pics, but I had this idea and went ahead with it. This is the Fortress of Doc Savage -- the pulp character had it before Superman was even created (Supes didn't get his until the 50s, I believe). It was a big blue dome in the Arctic circle, where Doc could escape to invent or meditate. It was the subject of an adventure in the magazine in 1938, aptly titled "The Fortress of Solitude."
just because doc had the fortress first doesnt mean they couldnt time share

The Fortress of Solitude iis a secret. Doc Savage is alone to contemplate his next move on crime. An assortment of evil devices has been stored there - grapped from villians he has captured over the years. No communication with the outside world is engaged.

Flip the pause and play button back and forth as the blue dome image "hits the camera" and see Doc inside the Fortress. BobJ please make that image the closing image.

That's right! The Man of Bronze had his Fortress of Solitude before there ever was a Man of Steel.
