First day of school, Julie Miller, new student coming from Grand Rapids cause her parents got a divorce, came to live with her mother to NYC, she feels difficulties fitting in the school and only befriends Doris and Montgomery, Coco fails to get along with her but eventually things get better when Coco gives Julie good recommendations. Leroy faces problems when it comes to reading and following the rules. Doris fails to appeal to the most popular boy of the high school; she is on a diet and doesn't like her body. As for Bruno, he can't tolerate anymore Ralph Garcy's immature behavior and faces problems when it comes to play the piano with the class rhythm and follow Shorofsky's orders.
