3rd Movememt of Tartini's Devil's trill sonata. This was part of my lecture recital. One of the issues I discussed was the problem of accompagniment. There is evidence that Tartini performed his sonatas with a cellist only.

  • There is no third movement to the Devils Trill Sonata. The Sonata is about 13 minutes long in one continuous movement.

  • Well not in the edition I played from which is a reprint of the first edition. What edition do you have of it?

  • She just plays music for the "common" people. Stop taking yourself so seriously.

She has skill and plays for the masses, people who otherwise wouldn't even think about Vivaldi or Tartini. That's why she adds the "manufacturated sounds", as you call them. Classical music is to be respected, but don't take it oh so seriously and look at it form another angle. without Mae, many people wouldn't know Vivaldi's Storm, for example.

  • VM is a classically-trained violinist. When she was only 13 years old, she had already played and recorded the Beethoven and Tchaikovsky violin concertos in 1 album. Look for her discography if you don't believe me. She played traditional classical music years before she started playing any of this techno-fusion stuff. She's a classical musician at heart.

  • the fact that they wear all black, have black pianos with black music stands whilst playing the devil's sonata suggests the satan himself has something to do with this song...
