@sirant Thanks. I'm working on something a little different for my 4 year old son who really wants a banjo. I'm using a hand drum and a youth guitar neck to make a 6 string youth banjo. Right now I'm trying to fashion my own tail piece. Your videos provided me with motivation to do this whenever I tried to talk myself out of it.

sounds to me like the bridge is in the wrong place. place it so you get pitch perfect 12th fret harmonics.
it loocs good, and it mega loud. 10/10!!!!

hi can you tell me what size drum you used thanks

You could take an old Clementine Crate box and attach a neck on it. I'm thinking about doing that some time.
With your project here, all I have to say is "AWESOME". It's great to see people make their own musical instruments.
How did you close off the bottom of the drum?... the back of the uke?

@jcpegg I just cut a round piece of wood from the back of an old dresser I believe. Did it with a handsaw... wasnt easy and needed LOADS of sanding.... On reflection though, I am almost considering removing it to brigthen the tone a bit..

About 20 bucks for everything, including paint.
