NO TASERS for law enforcement. Only officers with advanced training and experience should be allowed to carry firearms. This will force law enforcement to develope their communication skills and their interactions with the public. It will stop them from working from an ego and power hungry position. They will have to work on a much different level if they do not have tasers and immediate access to firearms. They would be less bullying and it would also help their public image.

@YoureAlwaysRight Ah, I misunderstood ~ sorry. America seems to have a theory that if a cop can't beat you in a 'fair fight', he doesn't have the right to be a cop, or to arrest us. That's total crap. That would mean the biggest thugs were immune to arrest? A 130lb female officer shouldn't be expected to wrestle King King, or a drunk, or a meth freak. Neither should a 6'5" male cop. Anything can happen in a fight, and if the officer is overcome (or simply trips), his weapon is vulnerable.(CONTD)

@FLSHBK1 I said the Smith brothers, out of Scottsdale, made billions of dollars from inventing TASER INT. Not for being tased. They are the inventers and owners of the company. Two harvard grads that live in Scottsdale, AZ. The people who died after being tased and had other proablems as you say, they wouldn't have died from a baton or from going hands on. Taser breeds an inferior officer who lacks courage. Officers become to quick to go to their taser and rely too much on it.

@YoureAlwaysRight I respectfully disagree. Batons can be lethal when mis-used, even accidentally. They also break bones and can cause permanent damage. Pepper spray is often ineffective on "chemically modified" people, can be lethal around infants and is useless in wind. Either wpn requires closer distance than tasers. Tasers stop aggression NOW and *usually* have no side effects 30 sec later. Most who died had other problems. What brothers made billions for being tased, please?

@FLSHBK1 Batons are better than tasers. When batons are used people don't die. When tasers are used people die. Lumps and bruises from batons are better than heart attacks and organ damage from tasers. The Smith brothers have become billionairs from their creation of Taser and since law enforcement started using their new toy many people have died when tased. Please remember that EVERY combination of law enforcement has been tried in the USA (no wpns, some wpns, all wpns) until we evolved to a formula which works. I respect your right to an opinion, but you should expect Tasers to be used for a LONG time, until something better comes along. Don't resist cops & you don't have to worry about tasers.
