  • let me take a crack at ansewering your questions.

a bipolar stepper motor has two coils in it. power to one coil move the shaft say 90 degrees then stops. power the second coil and the shaft moves 90 degrees then stops. power the first coil, but backwards this time and the shaft move again. then power the second coil backwards and the shaft completes a full rotation.

the devil is in the details.

  • I have a few of these salvaged motors, annoying the engineers didn't give us a shaft support.

  • What is the Arduino and how do I get one (or it)?

  • @lafrancesean Use a microcontroller like the Arduino..

  • PLEASE tell me how to do this, i have a cd-rom thing but i dont have a driver.
