Loudon Whelen Modifieds 6/27/2009 Last Lap

Final Lap- Sorry for the unsteady camera work. I was using a small digital pocket camera and also trying to watch the race. What you can't see is the move Lia made to the inside of TC down the back stretch then Szegedy followed Lia, then TC crossing them both over in the middle of 3-4. TC was clearly going to win the race but Lia got into the side of Szegedy and the LR of TC just feet from the finish line. Lia's win wasn't as clean as Hossfeld's win last year in the #4 but it was the last lap at Loudon what else would you expect.

But if you listen to post race commentary, Ron Silk took blame for the accident as he got into Lia's left rear nerf bar.

"Trying to get under [Lia] I just clipped his back bumper coming off of [turn] 4 and that's how that whole mess kind of started," Silk said. "I hate it for those guys that hit the wall on the last lap but there was nothing I could do. I had a good run, I was trying to get to the bottom just like they had before and I misjudged by about an inch."
