I wonder if the negative comments below were sponsored by Coke.. The person who goes on about losing Australian jobs is smoking crack - all credible science shows container deposit scheme = more recycling = jobs. Check the research, get informed.

Thing is, Coke don't force you to litter or chuck your container in the landfill bin. That's a decision we each make ourselves whether to do it or not. Sure, it'd be great to have a scheme like SA, but I can't begrudge coke for not wanting to part with their profits. Any it isn't like it's only coke products that end up as litter. Perhaps the message should be about getting AUSTRALIANS to do the right thing...

I recently saw a video on SBS about Coke in Columbia & how there employies can be mugged & killed delivering Coke & the company takes no responsibility. The company's behavior is VERY mild in Australia compared to other countries. If you check out the SBS site you may find it.
Re Coke ZERO. It is a poison because it contains artificial sweeteners. Check the ingredients & do the research & see how healthy it is

1:31 - is that a marijuana leaf?
-
@thebalc did you just make that up?
-
@thebalc Ahhh....no it doesnt. NSW has one of the lowest rates of container recycling, at less than 35%. South Australia is pushing 80%.

Some have asked why Coke opposes CDS - it seems to be ideological about regulation as when a CDS is introduced nothing bad happens to Coke sales. When you talk to other campaigners around the world, Coke is always a key opponent. Other beverge companies also talk about Coke's fundamentalist position. Recently Coke threatened to withdraw funding from the Grand Canyon Nt Pk because the mangers wanted to ban bottled water

@thebalc - not according to the National Waste Report.

@craftykathy1602 Learn the facts before you boycott.

Pretty average and biased outlook. NSW has higher recycling rates than SA and NT without a CDS. Good to see jobs mean nothing to you either, keep buying imported schweppes product.
