@ByronJamesShow Thank you! This is exactly what I meant. People get all sentimental and emotionally attached to a production like this. There's no need for it. Everything is subject to review and comment. Even the work of our beloved actors and writers.
@dusttracks i completely agree with you i think she is very mellow dramatic...she has to be alot bigger on stage and i tink she should raise the stakes and give a little more...i see denzel giving a little too much and playing out to the audience instead of what he is being fed from viola
@dusttracks I listed her credentials because I feel she truly deserves the recognition. Yeah, I do apologize cause it seems everybody is beating down on you. I'm not sure for everybody else, but like I said for me it is personal on a certain level because that's what I do: I analyze people's performances: each gesture, facial expression, the way they read a line, or say nothing at all. If you could please explain, maybe in more detail, why you don't like her performance? I really am curious.
@dusttracks Ha ha. I just realized how so dramatic I sounded. I apologize. Here's the thing: for me I do care tremendously about a person's performance because it is what I'm deeply passionate about. to me acting is almost everything. A performance can make or break a movie or tv show for me, and that's why i care about who wins awards. You know? Like some people are insanely passionate about music, writers, etc. Me: acting.
@Empathywriter Why do people start listing an actor's accomplishments when someone says something that isn't absolute praise or adoration? As if I don't know what both of these people have done. Darling, it's not that serious. Don't take these comments to heart. These people don't need you or obiwashere or blacktor or anyone else to protect them from less than stellar comments on youtube. They'll be fine. Trust me. (idiots)
@Empathywriter Yes, I've see 'Doubt' and am a HUGE fan of Viola Davis. Her performance in 'Doubt' was iconic and masterful. But...that doesn't mean I like everything she does. People can make lots of choices when DIRECTING and my suggestion was pulled out of the air. I don't care how many awards people win, everything they do is not great! Get off it...Why do people start listing an actor's accomplishments when someone says something that isn't absolute praise or adoration?
@dusttracks Second, the wringing of hands and all that other stuff you were mentioning about how she should have played the character that she won a Tony for, I must say is so melodramatic. In fact her standing there listening to him with her one hand in the pocket and looking down is far harder to do emotionally and mentally then it is to wring one's hands in nervous anticipation. And yes, people do stand still during an argument. I do when I think they person's argument is illogical. Thank you
