@P214Stearman no forward firing guns yes but in the back of the cockpit there was a MG17 for self defense facing rearwards but It woulnd be impossible to fire a MG34 or 42 from the cock pit window like the Douglas AC-47 Spooky from one and alot of the FI-156's were destroyed during the war and this is the 1960s when the movie was made so they used what was available to them where they were filming

Storch no fwd firing guns.Plus you can see the smoke canisters attached to the undercarriage.Plus..its a recce, so why the hell would he keep coming back ?
